This ep was slower than the last two (what with plot and backstory and very little blowing up) but I still thought it was pretty good. I loved all the team moments. I loved them stealing everything they needed, especially Ianto and Rhys fighting as a distraction. ^_^ Those two are absolute love. I loved Rhys' HUB2 sign. And his reaction to Jack's comment about being one of the team now: "Ye can stick it mate." ^_^ Rhys is more than happy just being Gwen's husband. I love that about him.
Ianto's idea of essentials: 1) Coffee 2) Toilet paper 3) Jack's coat 8D
I quite like Lois. She's a smart girl. Smart enough to know that helping Torchwood will very likely get her killed. That's why I think she's got a chance of surviving the season: because she's got a good head on her shoulders and a healthy dose of fear. It's a good combination. It may just keep her alive even though she chooses to help them (because instinctively, she knows its the right thing to do).
We better make the most of it then.
I suppose.
Like right now.
Ianto, the world could be ending.
The world's always ending. And I have missed that coat.
Rhys, do you want to take the car...should take about twenty minutes—
Thirty minutes.
Thirty.
...
The beans are almost done.
Bloody beans.
*cracks up laughing* Bloody beans indeed. ^_^
Alice has some skills on her. But then again she's Jack daughter and her mother was a Torchwood agent who survived to die of natural causes. She would be good. But unfortunately, she's not quite good enough.
The 456 are bloody creepy. *shivers* I really don't like things I can't see. And the puking/spraying green goo doesn't help much.
I like Frobisher. While he is very much on the side of the wrong, I find I quite like his flawed humanity. I liked his conversation with Jack, especially him saying that Jack was "a better man" than he was. And I love that he's absolutely terrified but won't let interfere with the job he has to do or even let it show for the most part. Unfortunately, he's very likely going to die.
I also really hate the PM. The man's a coward. I hope he dies a very gruesome death.
I also really like Clem (this show has fantastic characters) and his unnatural smelling abilities. Also:
And who's the queer?
Oi!(pause) It's not 1965 anymore.
Oh, Ianto. I love you.
And I adore that Gwen took home the contact lenses (strictly against Torchwood policy) for kinky sex. And the fact that Ianto was probably wondering why him and Jack had never thought of that before. ^_^ Team Torchwood loves their kinky sex.
The ending wasn't all that surprising to me at all unfortunately. Of course the 456 want our children (though I was surprised that they are willing to settle with only 10% of them). And of course Jack has yet another dark secret in his past. Something he's not at all proud of but had his reasons for doing. Which we will learn in tomorrow episode. I just hope Gwen doesn't give him too much shit. She's been so awesome this season, I'd hate to be annoyed with her now.
And we're over half-way through with this season. *cries* It's going by way too fast.
