I finally got a chance to rewatch part 1. It wasn't as bad the second time around, but it was still sorta ehh. Wasn't really too impressed. But there were parts to love, including SPOILERS for Part 1 and 2 )

I meant to post this yesterday but I got distracted with other stuff. Anyway, here is my somewhat belated review of the Merlin season premiere:

Merlin is back and it is wonderful! \o/ Saturday night was so much fun. Not only did I enjoy the episode immensely, but I had someone to enjoy it with me. I’m considered in my family to be something of a freak because of the way I get over-excited about my shows, so it was great having someone else squeeing right along with me. Thanks Jani. ^_^

I really liked this episode, and I didn’t entirely expect to—or at least I thought I would perhaps cringe at certain parts given what I had heard about the episode from the interviews, trailers, etc. Spoilers, obviously. )

So all things told, I thought it was a really good episode. A few minor things here and there, but then again this is my fun cracky wonderful Merlin. You can’t sweat the small stuff else you miss out of all the fun. XD

All in all, a great start for the season. I can’t wait until next Saturday.

*squee* Merlin’s back! ^_^

This ep was slower than the last two (what with plot and backstory and very little blowing up) but I still thought it was pretty good. I loved all the team moments. Spoilers )

And we're over half-way through with this season. *cries* It's going by way too fast.

The Prodigal, oh my god, it got even better with a second viewing. I really loved this episode. With the way I feel about this episode, the rest of the season has to be pretty damn good if any of the episodes hope to top this as my favorite for the season. It is hands down the best episode so far in a somewhat sub-par season. And it rates right up there with Sunday in my book, and Sunday is my favorite episode of the series. I simply loved this episode.

There are so many things I loved that I'm afraid I'm going to forget half of them. I don't even know where to begin. I think I'll start with the visuals. Atlantis is such a beautiful city. I squee every time we get to see a new and different shot of the city. I loved the views of the city cloaked in darkness. But my absolute favorite visuals from this episode were those of the SPOILERS for The Prodigal. )

There are a lot of other things and nuances that I liked in the episode, but if I typed them all up this post would be overly long and it would probably take me another week to find the time, so I’m going leave it with the points above and just state again how much I adored this episode.

But moving on, tonight’s episode was interesting. Sorry I don’t have a more apt description, but I’m still on the fence about it. I liked it but… I think it had more potential than what we got. SPOILERS for Remnants )

So verdict’s still out, but I think I’ll probably give this episode a 6 or 7 out of 10 because it was interesting, but left me somewhat unsatisfied.

Tonight's episode was a delightfully wonderful surprise. I have not been this completely satisfied with an episode of Atlantis in a very long time. There wasn't a single thing about it I was displeased about. It was well-written and well-acted and all-around very enjoyable. I have to give it a 10/10. Simply perfect in terms of the quality I would like to see every episode be.

There are many fantastic elements of this episode I would love to go into detail about, but unfortunately, I am very tired and have to get up early tomorrow. I don't think I'm even going to make it through the second viewing. However, I absolutely did love this episode, so I will definitely post again tomorrow with a detailed analysis/commentary. What a fantastic episode.

This is a little later than I originally intended, but after the long week I had, I was just too exhausted last night to type this up. I really loved last night's episode. I'd easily give it a 9 of out 10. Which puts it at the highest rated episode from me this season. It still a few things here and again that I wasn't too pleased with, but it was so satisfying overall, they are easily forgiven.

There were so many great elements to this episode, I don't even know where to start.SPOILERS )

So yeah, like I said, I loved this episode. I only hope the second part is just as good.

Good premieres tonight. Thank goodness HIMYM is only half an hour, so I didn't miss much of DWTS. Anyway, starting with Dancing, nice opening show. No one person was like WOW, but I like that. What's the fun if you can tell from the first episode who's going to win? Not that I didn't love watching Kristy last season; I did, but it's more fun this way. More room for improvement.

But I do have a few favorites. The Trifecta (Derek/Mark/Julianne) all got nice partners this season (because let's face it, I watch this show because of the professionals, not the celebrities). And my future husband was in fine form tonight, or so my mom tells me. Unfortunately, it was one of the dances I missed because of HIMYM. It's a cruel world to make me choose between the man I'm going to marry and the man whose babies I'm going to have. But Derek & Brooke got the top score of the night, so it was probably good. So Derek & Brooke, Julianne & Cody, and Mark & Kim all got my vote tonight.

I also liked Warren (the football player), Misty (the volleyball player), and Rocco (the chef). So Rocco wasn't that good, but he's cute, with a good sense of humor, and he cooks (I think I have to remind myself that this isn't the boyfriend shopping channel). But honestly, I liked him and would like to see a bit more of him before he goes home.

There were a few others (that I can't recall immediately at the moment) that I voted for, but I had 13 votes tonight, I could afford to be a little generous and not single anyone out for votes. Yet.

As for HIMYM...

*SQUEE!*

Spoilers )

And seriously, I've put WAY too much thought into a sitcom. Damn you Neil Patrick Harris and your awesomeness. ♥ But suffice to say, I loved the episode. Maybe not as much as I've loved other episodes though, mostly because of the whole Ted/Stella plotline. Because More Spoilers ) But all the Barney/Robin stuff was golden, imo.

All in all, tonight was a good night. Actually, my whole day's been great.

Tomorrow's going to suck, isn't it? LOL ^_^

Tonight's episode wasn't half bad. It was a little slow, but I enjoyed it for the most part. And it wasn't as completely Keller-centric as I feared it would be. There were some good Ronon/Rodney interactions. I giggled at parts, rolled my eyes at others. And I liked SPOILERS )

Overall, I actually really liked this episode, though I suspect it won't be a fan favorite.

And speaking of Stargate, but not Atlantis, I'm back to the "Meh, maybe I will give Universe a try" state. See, I watched an old (mid-season 5) SG-1 episode "Proving Ground" last night. It's a favorite of mine from that season. The episode is about a group of young (early-mid twenties) SG team potentials being trained by SG-1. It's a great episode. And one of the things that was most appealing to me about it was that the characters (who are great, imo) were closer to my age. That's even more true now that I'm actually in my early twenties (as opposed to late teens when I first saw it). And since I loved the episode so much, especially the characters, I thought that maybe TPTB might be able to write a decent show with younger actors/characters. Maybe? Possibly? Hopefully? Maybe? I still have serious reservations, but right now, I'm more likely to give it a honest chance than I was a couple days ago. I told you I keep going back and forth about it.

And on a completely unrelated to Stargate note, I finally figured out what channel Legend of the Seeker will be airing on in my area. *squee* Only six more weeks. Expect icons soon.

All in all, I think I enjoyed this episode more than the past several. Then again, I was in a fantastic mood to begin with. I guess rewatching will tell.

Oh, and is anybody else annoyed with Sci-Fi calling this the best season ever? Cuz I wouldn't say that. Not with what I've seen so far.

I am not as upset about Atlantis as I thought I would be. Meaning: I'm upset but not in hysterics. And I'm more saddened than angry (TPTB are idiots; we all should know this by now). I was more angry at the end of Season 1 (with the death the Grodin and the loss of Ford & Bates) than I am right now. Atlantis did have a good run. I would prefer one more season (I always said I wanted at least a season six), but we'll have the TV-movies to look forward to. I really liked the Ark of Truth and Continuum movies. So I'm hopeful.

But I'm also very sad. Atlantis was the show that officially introduced me to the crazy wonderful world of fandom. It was the first show I blogged about, first show I made icons for, first show I vidded, and the first show I read fanfic for (and even wrote for--those whole two drabbles, lol). And despite my recent semi-withdrawal from the SGA fandom, it still is my favorite show. It will be dearly missed.

Speaking of which tonight's episode was pretty good. A little slow paced, but for the most part I liked it. Except for the whole SPOILERS ) So, yeah, a few minor things, but overall worth watching.

I'm not bothering to put this behind a cut, because so few people actually read this, but here's your spoiler warning.

-First thing I thought after the episode finished was that Gwen married a great man. I love Rhys. So supportive of Gwen but also aware that he's important too. I was so glad to see him tell her what's what. Perhaps a little harsh, but sometimes that's the only way to get through to people. But in the end, he held her and listened to her and loved her. That's a wonderful husband she's got there, she better never let him go.

-Poor Andy. Seriously, I feel sorry for the guy. I understand Gwen's decision to keep him in the dark, but still. Loved him asking about vacancies though. ^_^ Slightly appealing thought, but sometimes ignorance really is bliss.

...which seems to be the moral of this story: that some things are better left unknown. Such a sad episode. Can't really blame Gwen though; she did what she thought she had to, even if she was wrong. However, I do have to say, after everything, you'd think she'd trust Jack a little more. I mean, when you think about it, it was really her he was trying to protect.

-As for THE SCENE...*bursts into giggles* I'm sorry, but seeing the two of them going at it cracked me up. And Gwen apparently had the same reaction. *snickers* But how hot was Ianto all in a dishabille?! *drools* And Jack with his cocky stance, shirt hanging open, pants undone... *dies* And then there was the part about the naked hide & seek. ROFL! Jack cheats. And the with the way Ianto looked when he said that, it's easy to see why. ^_^ And then finally, Jack's "coming back in, work to do." Ianto's job is so hard. XD

-Overall, I thought it was a pretty good episode, if sad. Buuuttt...DID YOU CHECK OUT THE TRAILER FOR THE NEXT EPISODE?! OMFG!!! Was that Ianto on top of Jack?! Sure looked like it. How HAWT is that?! Seriously, that one-second clip was sexier than their whole scene in this episode, IMO. GAWD!!!! !!!! GUH!!!

And that was just the best part of the trailer! Seriously, best trailer EVER!!!! I was already looking forward to Fragments, but now...OMG IS IT FRIDAY YET?!!!!! Toshiko whumpage, Owen looking happy (and was that the girl from the roof? I can't tell), Ianto on top of Jack, Myfanwy, (did I just see red UNIT caps?), Jack in Victorian dress, bombs going off...SERIOUSLY IS IT FRIDAY YET?!!!!!

I have mixed feelings about this episode. I both didn't like it and liked it all at the same time. In terms of the larger story, the main plot with Shep, I think the episode kinda tanked. I wasn't really buying it all that much. But in terms of the smaller stories within, I really liked it. Spoilers )

I'd give this episode a 7/10 because it certainly had its brilliant parts but failed to impress me overall. I suspect it will improve with further viewing however. Or at least I hope it will.
