Torchwood got picked up for a fourth season. I have mixed emotions about that. cut for length and spoilers for COE )

I am excited about season 5 of Doctor Who. ^_^ I'm going to miss Ten (or more, Tennant) but I'm eager to see what Eleven is like. I already adore his clothing choices. TWEED! OMG! And a bowtie. *loves* Plus the new companion looks cute. I can't wait to see them in action. 8D

Another show I'm getting excited about is Stargate: Universe. I was very hesitant about the show at first, but now I think I'm going to enjoy it. After seeing the latest trailer, my mother said it reminded her a little of BSG. Which is true; it does have some similarities. And it will certainly be darker that the previous two Stargates. But while I couldn't watch BSG because it was just too damn depressing, I believe that SGU will retain some of its predecessors' sense of humor. In smaller quantities certainly, but there nonetheless. At least, BSG trailers never made me laugh. But Universe is really starting to appeal to me, so October 2nd is being marked on my calendar.

So is November 17th. I have never been so excited for a DVD release before. And it's the first time I've ever wished we had a Blu-Ray player. But the bloopers and deleted scenes are on the regular DVD release. That's all that really matters to me. There are alternate ways to see all the extra featurettes that the Blu-Ray has--like watching them with a friend who has a Blu-Ray player. ;) *is so excited* November is way too far away.

So I'm rewatching COE on BBC America...because I'm gotten over the majority of my anger and tears and feel able to give the show another go without the whole raging at the world, sobbing my eyes out at the end. But they get to my absolute favorite scene--the one with Ianto and his sister through the car getting stolen. And they not only cut out the best line--"she says you're taking it up the arse"--which is kinda to be expected because American censors suck, but they also cut down the whole car part. That was the funniest part of the entire miniseries!

And on another note, my father is kinda sorta watching the episode with me. And he's actually been pretty good about it. If he could just get over his homophobia, he would enjoy this show as much as my mother and I. But I'm afraid my father is pretty set in his ways and is also the son of a baptist preacher. But considering his opposing views, he's being cool about the show right now and is watching it. Or at least, hasn't left the room and is involved enough in the show to be asking me questions about it. It's a start at least.

Oh my God, what have I just been though? *laughs a little* Hell.

That was damn good television, wasn't it?

I love this show. Even when I hate it.

So...season four anyone?

In terms of story-telling, looking at the show very coldly, season three of Torchwood was a great story. I acknowledge that. If I had been watching this as a first time viewer, I might have loved it.

But as an invested fan... Fuck you RTD.

Atlantis...Robin Hood...Torchwood... my three most beloved shows. And each one of them got fucked over--each increasingly more so.

I need a break from TV for a while. At this point though, I'd be an idiot to ever let myself become emotionally invested in another TV show again. The heartache just isn't worth it.

This ep was slower than the last two (what with plot and backstory and very little blowing up) but I still thought it was pretty good. I loved all the team moments. Spoilers )

And we're over half-way through with this season. *cries* It's going by way too fast.

Having a cold makes squeeing hazardous to your health. I mean, when you can't breathe in the first place, the whole jumping up and down squealing thing is very hard to do. So I'm just doing it on the inside tonight. I'm absolutely loving this show. IT IS AWESOME FOLKS!!! I will eventually go into more detail about my thoughts but at the moment I'm tired and also quite sick. I need to sleep.

I did a little tweaking with my layout. Really just changed the header and modified a few colors. I really need a new moodtheme. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to making or finding one.

I also have a new default icon. *points* I made it myself. It's been months since I've made icons, but this new show has got me more than a little excited. And while there is a lj community for the show already, [info]legendofseeker, it's not really active yet. No graphics or icons. So I had to make some of my own. Unfortunately, there are only two promo pics so far to work off of. I wish I knew how to make screencaps so I could cap the trailer. Then I could make icons from that. Anyone want to help me out? No? *is sad* Oh well, I'm sure there will be more material in the coming months. But I'll tell you, these next two months are going to be torture, especially since they are going to be pretty uneventful for me.

Anyway, since I made too many icons to use myself, I figured I'd share. Maybe my sis will steal one or two (since everybody else probably thinks I'm crazy). I also stumbled across an old work-in-progress folder with a set of really old Robin Hood icons and a couple Torchwood icons that I never got around to posting. So without further ado...

I'm not bothering to put this behind a cut, because so few people actually read this, but here's your spoiler warning.

-First thing I thought after the episode finished was that Gwen married a great man. I love Rhys. So supportive of Gwen but also aware that he's important too. I was so glad to see him tell her what's what. Perhaps a little harsh, but sometimes that's the only way to get through to people. But in the end, he held her and listened to her and loved her. That's a wonderful husband she's got there, she better never let him go.

-Poor Andy. Seriously, I feel sorry for the guy. I understand Gwen's decision to keep him in the dark, but still. Loved him asking about vacancies though. ^_^ Slightly appealing thought, but sometimes ignorance really is bliss.

...which seems to be the moral of this story: that some things are better left unknown. Such a sad episode. Can't really blame Gwen though; she did what she thought she had to, even if she was wrong. However, I do have to say, after everything, you'd think she'd trust Jack a little more. I mean, when you think about it, it was really her he was trying to protect.

-As for THE SCENE...*bursts into giggles* I'm sorry, but seeing the two of them going at it cracked me up. And Gwen apparently had the same reaction. *snickers* But how hot was Ianto all in a dishabille?! *drools* And Jack with his cocky stance, shirt hanging open, pants undone... *dies* And then there was the part about the naked hide & seek. ROFL! Jack cheats. And the with the way Ianto looked when he said that, it's easy to see why. ^_^ And then finally, Jack's "coming back in, work to do." Ianto's job is so hard. XD

-Overall, I thought it was a pretty good episode, if sad. Buuuttt...DID YOU CHECK OUT THE TRAILER FOR THE NEXT EPISODE?! OMFG!!! Was that Ianto on top of Jack?! Sure looked like it. How HAWT is that?! Seriously, that one-second clip was sexier than their whole scene in this episode, IMO. GAWD!!!! !!!! GUH!!!

And that was just the best part of the trailer! Seriously, best trailer EVER!!!! I was already looking forward to Fragments, but now...OMG IS IT FRIDAY YET?!!!!! Toshiko whumpage, Owen looking happy (and was that the girl from the roof? I can't tell), Ianto on top of Jack, Myfanwy, (did I just see red UNIT caps?), Jack in Victorian dress, bombs going off...SERIOUSLY IS IT FRIDAY YET?!!!!!
